Kamba wa Nazi (Prawn Curry in Coconut)

Today we woke up to really bad news as a country. We are shocked beyond words. We are mourning the loss of Gen Nkaissery. RIP HERO.

I know it’s probably not the right time to eat like a King but we have to eat something to live. My lunch today consists of my favorite sea food. We call it Kambakamba in Swahili.

Let’s get cooking.

Ingredients

½ kilo of prawns (well cleaned)
½ cup of FEM
½ cup of SEM

1 teaspoon curry powder
2 finely chopped onions
4 crushed cloves of garlic
2 green chillies
3 sliced tomatoes
Juice from 1 lemon
1 dessertspoon tomato puree
½ bunch of coriander
Salt to taste

Preparation

Combine all the ingredients except FEM.
Cover and cook on low heat until the food is nearly dry.
Add FEM and cook for 3 more minutes.

Serve hot with rice or Sima /Ugali .
